GLENN SEVEN ALLEN : VOICE TEACHER
Teaching Philosophy
I believe that everyone has the ability to sing. I've worked with Tony-Award nominated singers such as Matthew Morrison (South Pacific, The Light in the Piazza) and Manoel Felciano (Sweeney Todd). I also personally study with one of the greatest voice teachers in the business. My classical singing background has taught me a diverse and comprehensive knowledge of the singing process and mastery of the technical elements of good singing: Breath support/control, agility, larnygeal stability, an engaged soft palate, use of the passaggio as it relates to vocal registers, singing vowels and their modifications, and good posture. I also use elements of the Alexander Technique to ensure that you are singing freely and efficiantly. I have a simple, practical approach to help each singer get out of their own way. Whether you are starting from scratch, preparing for an audtition, concert, or are working on a Broadway role, you will find that I will get you to do your best singing. I may not make you a great singer, but I'm certain that I can make you a better singer! I also have a strong background in acting and audition coaching which I bring elements of into each lesson.
Studio Policies
I have a 24-Hour cancellation policy which includes the fee for a full lesson. Lessons are $100 per/hour. My accompanists are working muscicians and music directors who are currently working on Broadway.
I am also a member of the New York Singing Teachers Association.
